Review

This Stephen King thriller was originally a mini-series for television later released on video and DVD. It certainly suffers greatly from its not too ideal format - there are ridiculously slow and tedious scenes here that have little other relevance than to drag things out. But what's most impressive is that Golden Years manages to be utterly confusing despite explaining everything painfully meticulously. The premise of the story is quite good, and King has some fine observations, but the entire production lacks professionalism and inspiration, and even the acting is far below par - with Huffman and R. D. Call particularly embarrassing.
