Review
If you've stuck around for this third
installment in the series, you're probably partial to Damien Leone's
particular variant of body horror and flesh mutilations, and you'll
also appreciate the upgrade in production values and narrative
complexity on offer this time around. Art the Clown may have been
decapitated at the end of
Terrifier
2, but Leone
obviously finds a way to bring him back – by virtue of a foray into
the familiar demon possession territory. It might not be the most
original or inspired choice, but Terrifier 3 offers a better
balance between story and horror elements than its predecessors, and
there are some truly gruesome scenes that may be among the most
skilfully executed in the history of this subgenre, notably one of
Art's more thorough manglings, which takes place in a communal
shower.
