Malcolm McDowell
FILMOGRAPHY (ONLY REVIEWED ENTRIES)
British actor known for taking on controversial leading roles during the 1970s and early 1980s, often portraying socially or sexually deviant characters that allowed him to exploit his intense eyes and seductive speaking voice. McDowell broke through with the trendsetting films If.... (directed by Lindsay Anderson) and A Clockwork Orange (by Stanley Kubrick), but despite his great potential, he struggled to deliver performances of equal calibre in the years that followed. And by the mid-1980s, he had largely fallen out of favour, before reappearing in higher-profile films in the 2000s. Previously married to Mary Steenburgen.
