Forest Whitaker
FILMOGRAPHY (ONLY REVIEWED ENTRIES)
Likable and sympathetic character actor whose daunting appearance makes his expressive presence all the more resonant. After making his debut in Amy Heckerling's teen comedy Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982), Whitaker built a reputation that often outshines the overall quality of his filmography. His unorthodox eyes can convey both deep sadness and explosive rage. He won the Best Actor award at Cannes for his portrayal of jazz virtuoso Charlie Parker in Clint Eastwood's Bird (1988), and again received rave reviews for his performance as Idi Amin in The Last King of Scotland.
