Alone in the
dark
10 FEBRUARY 2006
So tell me, do you feel at your coolest standing alone in
the theatre lobby? Saying "One ticket to King Kong, please"
to the ticket salesman, strolling confidently along with
your bucket of popcorn, looking at the first daters' nervous
talking and the married couples' uninspired kisses? Do you
feel on top of the world sitting down in your seat alone,
while hords of people look suspisciously at you, or mayby
even pitying your sorry butt? Well, I do! Here are the top
five reasons to go to the movies alone:
-
You won't have to see Scary Movie
3 because you don't dare tell anyone that what you
really want to see is Brokeback Mountain.
-
You won't be distracted by your
girlfriend wanting to snuggle just as you're about to find
out who's dunnit.
-
You get all your popcorn and soda to
yourself.
-
Nobody is going to rush you out in a
hurry and ruin the best part of the movie: the
end-credits.
-
After the film, you can have a
burger and think about the film in peace and quiet without
your girlfriend telling you that you just ate, and that,
although the acting in Walk the Line was good, the
music pretty much blowed.
