Review
This is a complex, novelistic crime
film of near-timeless proportions. Beautifully shot, The Order
creates an atmospheric world that transports you effectively back to
1983 through expert set design and spectacular-looking
cinematography, which helps keep the at times conventional
procedural narrative riveting. The film's explosive themes, combined
with Nicholas Hoult's charged performance as the white supremacist
Bob Mathews, create a reciprocal effect that draws you in. Jude Law
gives a totally convincing performance as the FBI agent set to hunt
him down, complete with a solid American accent and a trendy stache.
