Woody Harrelson
FILMOGRAPHY (ONLY REVIEWED ENTRIES)
After breaking through playing bartender Woody Boyd on the NBC sitcom Cheers (1985–1993), Woody Harrelson moved on to a highly successful career on the big screen in the 1990s, kickstarted by his leading roles in White Men Can't Jump (1992), Indecent Proposal (1993), and Natural Born Killers (1994). In 1996, he showcased serious acting chops, earning rave reviews and several accolades for his performance as real-life pornographer Larry Flynt in Milos Forman's The People vs. Larry Flynt. Between such more serious films, Harrelson has always revisited his comedy roots, notably in box-office hits such as Kingpin. He remained in demand and busy through the 2000s, appearing in the Coens' award-winning No Country for Old Men before giving perhaps the second-best performance of his career in the hard-hitting LA crime drama Rampart. To younger audiences, Harrelson is perhaps best known for his role as Haymitch Abernathy in the Hunger Games franchise.
