BIO

Immensely talented, pock-faced character actor who was a late bloomer on the big screen. After bit parts and TV roles since the 1970s, Postlethwaite got his big break during the early 1990s with supporting performance in big-budget productions such as Alien 3, The Last of the Mohicans and In the Name of the Father, the two latter opposite Daniel Day-Lewis. After an Academy Award nomination for the latter film and a subsequent break-out role in the critically acclaimed The Usual Suspects, Postlethwaite was in high-demand for the rest of his life, often playing characters who found themselves in intense personal predicaments or moral dilemmas.
