Review
The continental directional
style sets this film apart among its Norwegian contemporaries. Director
Pål Bang-Hansen is constantly on the move; he has a sense of urgency and
ambition about him. But although the story has potential as a murder
mystery, the characters are not drawn out well enough for us to care
about them. And in addition to the often stilted dialogue between them,
this contributes to
keeping them distant and theoretical. When your protagonist is a prick,
the least you should do is make him interesting. Egil Monn-Iversen both
produced and provided an abrasive, unatmospheric score which does little
to improve the impression.
