Review

This short love story has its roots in traditional Scandinavian fairytales, and Norwegian filmmaker Torill Kove deploys classical symbolism and narrative techniques to tell the tale of a couple of quirky characters - a Norwegian maiden and a Danish poet. The animations are old fashioned and simplistic, giving the film an appropriately archaic feel, and making this an amusing and fairly effective little tale. Narration from Liv Ullmann.
