Review
If you like Ricky Gervais in general and David Brent in particular,
you'll definitely also like David Brent: Life on the Road –
Gervais follow-up to The Office. 15 years has passed since
The Office and Brent now works as a sales rep (with limited
success) in the bathroom supply business. He decides to take a month
of unpaid leave to pursue a career in the music business, which not
surprisingly puts him in an abundance of awkward situations.
Although the writing here isn't as crisp as Gervais' best work, his
realization of the David Brent character is so saturated with pure,
timeless comedy that the film is an amusing, at times hilarious
delve into the most embarrassing parts of the human psyche.
