Review
With
its all-female cast and at least well-thought-out logic in the realm
of the inexplicable, there are times The Descent aspires to
be a decent horror film. The premise isn't all that bad either,
despite its obvious
"youngsters-venture-into-places-they-shouldn't-be" nature. Still,
the film manages to thread almost every cliché imaginable, and there
are so many inane jump-scares in here that I've gained immunity by
the time the bad-guys show up. Of the performances, Shauna
MacDonald's is definitely the most fun. The underground scenes were
shot in a London studio - and unfortunately not in a terribly
impressive manner.
