Review
This comedy has a promising premise:
Upper middle class couple Alec Baldwin and Salma Hayek have only
just been able to keep up a facade of affluence in time to drop
off their daughter for college before their financial situation
collapses. The next day they start raising money by having a drunken
yard-sale which, needless to say, spirals out of control. The title
is a little misleading though, 'cause they're actually not that
drunk, which is a little disappointing. Instead Baldwin and Hayek
run around in a screwball-esque world where people act and talk more
or less ridiculously. The jokes are hit and miss, to put it mildly,
but thanks to Alec Baldwin's comic timing and some quite interesting
observations and social comments, the film manages to be rather
enjoyable amidst all the silliness.
