Review
This entry in the survival genre about
two 20-something friends who decide to climb a 600-metre tall
desolate broadcast tower in an American desert does revisit a few
genre cliches on its way to a rather predictable ending, but the
director Scott Mann creates segments so atmospheric and shoots
images so breathtaking that you're guaranteed to be intensely
affected by them, regardless of your degree of acrophobia. The
girls' climb to and predicaments at the top of the tower is a
wonderful achievement in movie craftsmanship and old-fashioned film
tricks in which every image is charged with a lot more tension and
tangibility than overdone CGI will ever be able to do.
