Review
This silly fantasy-action
doesn't work in any way, shape or form, except as a curiosity
documenting young Austrian bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger's first
foray into the movies. Hercules in New York was produced independently on a
shoestring budget, and the awful craftsmanship and production values –
including the badly choreographed dubbing of Arnold's lines – are
actually a far more substantial impediment for the film than
Schwarzenegger's lacking
acting talent or experience. His rhythmic flexing of his pecs is arguably the movie's highlight, which says it all,
really. The terrible
musical score ranks alone on the other end of the scale.
