Review
Here is a good-natured and fun
animated film about the Norse god Thor, and his inception as a deity
after finding the magic hammer Mjølner. Although Thor himself is
portrayed as a customary fantasy hero (he has the abilities and courage,
but doesn't know it), many other aspects of this Icelandic feature is
refreshingly atypical - providing good fun for young and old. Odin, for
example, is portrayed as a gormandising, lazy coward, and offers very
little help for our young protagonist. The animations are fine, without
excelling, and although the narrative may be a little difficult to
follow for the younger segment of the audience, there is always
something of interest going on along the way.
