Review
Sometimes, awful
horror movies can be slightly entertaining simply because they are funny
- either intentionally or unintentionally. There is no way I can be able
to judge the filmmakers intentions after seeing Infested, but
what I do know is that it is not funny in any form or to any extent. In
return, it carries the 'awful horror movie' tag as easily as the worst
Stephen King adaptation of the 1980s. Director Josh Olson combines a
slow and slight build-up with completely unscary presentations of bugs
taking over human bodies (for some reason). His design is so trivially
materialized that the so-called horror feels completely logical - after
all, this is a horror film. Nothing takes away the illusion more
effectively. Add to that the worst special effects on this side of the
millennium, and the insult is complete.
