Review
Formulaic and unfresh horror from New Zealand has engaging leads and a
fairly rewarding solution, but hits too many familiar notes on its way
there. The premise isn't very good, to be honest, and the environment
and characters it portrays seem too
secluded to give the film a naturally thrilling effect. At it worst,
The Locals seems like something coming from Stephen King's
paper-bin, which rarely is a good testament.
