Review
This supposedly high-tech mystery
thriller from 2007 wants to look modern, be clever and feel flashy,
but ends up as a disjointed and oddly paced misfire. Halle Berry plays a news
reporter who goes undercover to investigate a suspected murder / sex
scandal involving a superrich advertising executive (Bruce Willis).
The script by Jon Bokenkamp may seem clever at first, mainly because
director James Foley (the man behind the wonderful
Glengarry Glen Ross) keeps everything moving quickly.
But when it's time to add it all up, nothing really fits,
and the ending is an abrupt, preposterous mess which will leave you
feel cheated.
