Pet Sematary Two (1992) Preceeded by: Pet Sematary (1989)
This unnecessary sequel to the
1989 original
sees the same director and largely the same plot. The only fresh aspect
is that the characters are replaced, with young Edward Furlong (from
Terminator
2: Judgement Day) serving as our protagonist. Despite
some small alterations, Pet Sematary
Two
is painfully predictable. And the main antagonist, town sheriff Gus
Gilbert (Clancy Brown), is the definition of a stereotype. Perhaps this
could have been a fairly effective story if not for the fact that we've
seen it all before – to which the filmmakers' only response is piling it
on.
