Review
The fine reviews this formulaic
thriller garnered must have been informed by director Wes Craven's
reputation rather than how the film actually plays out. While there
are certain suspenseful moments here in which Craven is able to show
off his use of ticking clocks, the platitude of the story, Cillian
Murphy's cardboard bad guy, and Rachel McAdams' telegraphed and
uninspired transformation from vulnerable victim to girl power rep
make the suspension of disbelief nearly impossible.
