Review
A retired porn star is
persuaded to do one final film for a big sum of money by an insane
"filmmaker" who tricks, drugs and forces our protagonist to do
increasingly heinous acts of violence, torture and worse against various
women, himself and ultimately his family. Allegedly the makers of this
extremely graphic and insensitive film claimed that the crap they were
filming was some sort of allegory for how Serbia had been treating its own
people after the civil war, but I won't stand for it. If they cannot formulate an
intelligent and/or artistic allegory without raping my eyes and ears,
then I'm not interested in what they think they're trying to say. And
the most offending thing about Srpski film is the indecency in
trying to camouflage their fetishism for extreme images and boundary-pushing as something
with artistic merit
– or
something of even the faintest interest to moviegoers and film
lovers.
