Ternet ninja (2018)
Anders Matthesen's long-awaited follow-up to his hugely successful Terkel i knibe is rougher, smarter and even funnier than its predecessor. After an enticing onset and a clever little reunion with some of our old acquaintances from Terkel i knibe, Ternet ninja takes us on a roller-coaster ride of refreshingly non-PC observations and comments on life as a tween in our modern society. The script is full of spicy insults, quips and innuendos which are delightfully funny for grown-ups and children who have the maturity and intelligence to appreciate them. Matthesen is a true artist in vulgarisms. But don't get tricked into thinking the film itself is debasing, because it's the complete opposite: uplifting, intelligent and optimistic. *** This review is based on the Norwegian audio version ***
