Highly talented actress, screenwriter and producer of Norwegian descent who came to prominence together with fellow Georgetown University graduates Mike Cahill and Zal Batmanglij, who in 2011 both directed her in films which were co-written and co-produced by Marling, respectively Another Earth and Sound of My Voice. Both films were chosen to screen at Robert Redford's Sundance Festival, and particularly Another Earth became one of the breakout films of the year. After this, Marling has starred in several bigger productions, like Arbitrage and the Redford directed The Company You Keep. She also returned to work with Batmanglij in The East in 2013 and with Cahill in I Origins in 2014.
