Review

Penned by a young John Sayles, who had written the Jaws spoof Piranha two years earlier, Alligator is a mildly amusing fantasy in the same vein as the two aforementioned films. Admittedly, it allows itself more creative liberties (read: illogicalities) than its counterparts, but thrust forward by a young, sexy and shamelessly talented Robert Forster, the film has drive and some useful scares and thrills. That is, until it dries out and becomes standard and dull.
