Review
If you were among those who thought the
actual Hunger Games contest in
the
first film were just a tedious distraction necessary
to get into the real dealings of power struggles and static
geopolitical tension, then this third installment in the franchise
should be of your liking. This picture is like watching news reports
from The Cold War: You get the occasional skirmish and development,
but mostly you're just watching characters boasting about their
various types of power. And as if that wasn't enough, the "Part 1"
subtitle delivers exactly as promised; the film offers no
real ending, merely an intermission. The actors try to get through
it all by resorting to posing more than acting, none more so than
Liam Hemsworth who treats his role basically as a model shoot.
