Clive Owen
FILMOGRAPHY (ONLY REVIEWED ENTRIES)
Handsome, manful British performer who made a massive entry on the international film scene in the early 2000s, appearing in a number of high-profile films and suddenly establishing himself as one of the most sought after character actors in the category 'borderline good/bad guy'. Before that, he had appeared in an array of British television and film productions throughout the 1990s, often in daring and unconventional roles such as in Bent (1997) and Croupier (1998). About the same time, he had success with the play "Closer" on the London stage, and this made veteran director Mike Nichols cast Owen in one of the roles for his filmatization of Closer in 2004. At that point, Owen had progressed through supporting roles in Robert Altman's Gosford Park and The Bourne Identity to something of Hollywood's next British darling.
