BIO

This beautiful, fairly talented actress became the new bomb of Hollywood during the early 1990s, especially after appearing in the now cult movie Basic Instinct. In this period she specialized in femme fatales in various erotic dramas and thrillers – or anything else which would not require her to play it straight – before (as is usual with actresses who rely heavily on their looks) time caught up with her. However, in recent years, the now middle-aged lady has revived her career with more introspective and arguably insightful acting, notably in films such as Broken Flowers and Bobby.

TRIVIA

• It was Stone who insisted on casting Russell Crowe in the male lead in The Quick and the Dead, which kick-started the Australian's Hollywood career.
