Elliott Gould

Tall, gangly, curly-haired actor who became an unlikely star in the '60s and '70s by playing characters who stood up against political inequality. Of Jewish descent, Gould was a ruggedly handsome young man, but he struggled to find new ground in the '80s, and his career began to decline. However, it was reignited with a regular guest spot on the now legendary TV show Friends, where he played Jack Geller, the father of David Schwimmer and Courteney Cox's characters. Still, despite his considerable talent, Gould has not had as many significant roles as he perhaps should have throughout his career. He was once married to Barbra Streisand, and has a son, Jason Gould, from their marriage.
