After breaking through as a leading man in Norwegian cinema in the early 2000s, Aksel Hennie was tipped for an international career as well. Versatile and productive, Hennie also made his directorial debut in 2004 with the movie Uno. In 2008, he went on to star as the title character in the WWII drama Max Manus, the most expensive Norwegian film to date. His perhaps best acting achievement was as a voice-actor on the Danish animated comedy Terkel i knibe, in which Hennie created all the Norwegian voices.
