Review
Interesting, exploitatively constructed
psychological thriller in which ten strangers find themselves stranded
overnight at a murderous motel in the Nevada desert, where they must
work out who's responsible and how to stop the madness. Michael Cooney's
conventional script is more complex than what at first meets the eye,
but the fact that logic holds up cannot hide the cliches which are
presented to us in the first place. With that said, the premise is good,
James Mangold's direction is tight, and the all-star cast makes you want
to watch even when it seems the story's gone down the drain and cynicism
is all that's left. Inspired by Agatha Christie's classic novel "And
Then There Were None".
