One of the finest African American actors of his generation, Don Cheadle has emerged slowly but steadily to the elite ranks of performers in Hollywood. After a handful of unnoticeable roles from the mid-1980s, Cheadle began to land his first significant roles from the mid-1990s onward, his first breakthrough coming with Devil in a Blue Dress. During the next decade, Cheadle displayed more and more of his talent in increasingly important roles, excelling notably in 2004 with his Oscar- nominated performance in Hotel Rwanda and a lead role in Paul Haggis' Oscar winner Crash. He's not only an engaging and handsome screen presence, but also demonstrates a remarkable depth and sensitivity in his work.
