Daniel Day-Lewis
ACTOR FILMOGRAPHY (ONLY REVIEWED ENTRIES)
Ruggedly handsome and immensely talented leading man with character actor sensibilities and an ability to transform his appearance to suit a wide array of parts, ages and mannerisms. Day-Lewis, son of British/Irish poet Cecil Day-Lewis, started in British theatre and cinema in the early 1980s, before developing into a Hollywood leading man by the early 1990s. Although he has been incredibly picky in his choice of parts, he has obtained a status as a critics' and director's favourite through his powerful, idiosyncratic performances – at times bordering on the overdone.
