Emilio Estevez

FILMMAKER FILMOGRAPHY (ONLY REVIEWED ENTRIES)
Although an original member of the so-called Hollywood "Brat Pack" of the 1980s, in as much as he was the right age and starred in some of the most defining films of the era (notably The Outsiders, The Breakfast Club and St. Elmo's Fire), the somewhat pensive and unglamorous Emilio Estevez turned out to be a little different and less attention-seeking and attention-grabbing than for instance his younger brother Charlie Sheen or his pal Rob Lowe. According to Lowe, Estevez, who is Martin Sheen's oldest son, was always the most serious and professional of the lot, and after working his way up to a young lead in the mid-80s, arguably peaking with the pop western series Young Guns, Estevez tried his hand at directing with Wisdom already in 1987. After falling out of fashion towards the mid-90s, Estevez returned in the director's chair with the brilliant Bobby in 2006 before following up with the independent success The Way starring his father in 2010. Estevez now only acts occasionally and devotes his time to his efforts behind the camera.
