Ralph Fiennes
ACTOR FILMOGRAPHY (ONLY REVIEWED ENTRIES)
This hugely talented and ingenious British performer made an impressive breakthrough as Amon Göth in Steven Spielberg's acclaimed Schindler's List. Before that, Fiennes had made an impact on the stage as a member of England's National Theatre and The Royal Shakespeare Company. Fiennes followed up his complex performance in Spielberg's Oscar-winner with a far more charming (but still incredibly nuanced) role in Robert Redford's brilliant Quiz Show and confirmed his position as both a romantic and dramatic lead with a fine performance in Anthony Minghella's The English Patient. Although he hasn't been the most prolific of actors during the past ten years, Fiennes continues to put in fine roles and divides his time between European and American productions. Fiennes' is the brother of Joseph Fiennes, who was Oscar-nominated for his performance in Shakespeare In Love.
On explaining how to pronounce his name:
In Bruges (2008) Harry Waters (Fiennes): "An Uzi? I'm not from South Central Los fucking Angeles. I didn't come here to shoot twenty black fucking ten year olds in a fucking drive-by. I want a normal gun for a normal person."
