Randy Quaid's little brother made his big breakthrough with Breaking Away in 1979, and it soon became clear that he possessed about the same amount of talent as his sibling – plus the added advantage of movie-star looks. At his best, Quaid is a bubbly, magnetic performer, as he demonstrated with his turn as Jerry Lee Lewis in Great Balls of Fire! and more recently as the egotistical Harvey in The Substance. He was nominated for – and won – a host of awards for his supporting role in Far From Heaven (2002).
