Steve Buscemi

FILMMAKER FILMOGRAPHY (ONLY REVIEWED ENTRIES)
Intense and prolific performer, usually in supporting roles, who made a name for himself during the 1990s with a handful of roles, often as weirdos or neurotic characters, in films by independent filmmakers who would later become highly acclaimed, such as Quentin Tarantino and the Coens. Combining his characteristic, peculiar looks and quirky voice with a genuine sensitivity, Buscemi helped transform the portrayal of psychotic adversaries or companions, from the typically one-dimensional representations of the 1970s and 1980s into the more fully realised personas of later years. Buscemi has also directed a number of films which have been given festival screenings and achieved reasonable commercial success.
