The Coen Brothers
FILMMAKER FILMOGRAPHY (COMPLETE)
The Coen Brothers have developed into two of our times' most creative, accomplished and important filmmakers, and they have done so through hard work, fine craftsmanship and a large output. They are among the few filmmakers today who pride themselves on having control over all parts of the creative prosess, from writing and producing to directing, shooting, and editing, which has earned them a rare reputation as auteurs in today's cinema. Their versatility and eye for good stories coupled with an often quirky narrative style and beautiful cinematography have produced some modern classics, such as Miller's Crossing, Fargo, and No Country For Old Men, the latter for which they won Best Picture, Best Director and Best Screenplay at the Academy Awards. They have also been nominated for the Palme d'Or seven times, and won it for Barton Fink. The Coens tend to work frequently with actors John Turturro, Steve Buscemi, George Clooney and Frances McDormand (Joel's wife) among others.
