FILMMAKER FILMOGRAPHY (ONLY REVIEWED ENTRIES)
After slowly making a name for himself as a television heartthrob in the early 1990s (notably in ER), George Clooney emerged on the big screen as a vigorous, manly, and somewhat more mature action star in mid-1990s films such as From Dusk Till Dawn, Batman & Robin and The Peacemaker. He progressed slowly up the ranks of both critics and audiences with wise career choices, appearing in the films of renowned directors such as Robert Rodriguez, the Coen brothers and Steven Soderbergh, the latter directing Clooney three times in the Ocean's series. In 2005, Clooney entered the director's chair for the first time, helming the Oscar-nominated and critically acclaimed Good Night, and Good Luck. Towards the end of the first decade of the third millennium, Clooney's status had changed from action hero slash sex symbol to Hollywood's most liberal, socially minded and eligible bachelor. Thoughts went back to 1970s Warren Beatty, as Clooney proved he could write and direct as well as act (receiving the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for Syriana).
