Highly talented Puerto Rican character actor whose magnificent performance in the breakthrough movie The Usual Suspects helped him become one of the hottest new prospects around. Ruggedly handsome, with a beefy latino appearance and a slurred mumbling voice, Del Toro has usually found himself in various roles portraying tough guys and people on the side of society. He won an Academy Awards for his performance as a Mexican police officer in Steven Soderbergh's Traffic, and he followed up with fine work in Alejandro Iñárritu's 21 Grams (2003) and in Susanne Bier's Things We Lost in the Fire in 2007.
