Morgan Freeman
FILMOGRAPHY (ONLY REVIEWED ENTRIES)
Morgan Freeman came late but good into the public eye of movie acting. After struggling in minor roles throughout the 60s and 70s, Freeman got his break with an Oscar nomination and rave reviews for his work in Street Smart (1987). This gave him a wide variety of roles to choose from, and Freeman has been very wise in picking roles - often alternating between serious dramatic material and thrillers. His earnestness and down-to-earth persona combined with his commanding but sincere voice have earned him a unique reputation in the business over the last twenty years. Although his repeated voiceovers in films at times have bordered on caricature, Freeman still is considered among the finest actors in Hollywood, approaching his seventies.
Eyewitness (1981) Lt. Black (Freeman): "My name is Lieutenant Black. It should be easy to remember."
