Being the daughter of Aerosmith's Steven Tyler and named after Norwegian actress Liv Ullman, it never felt surprising that Liv Tyler would end up in the limelight. With classical beauty and a good 178 centimeters, she was also ideal for modelling - something she took up as a 14-year-old. However, it was her surprisingly mature acting in her debut film Silent Fall which put her on the movie map. Not all of Tyler's subsequent roles have been equally impressing, and films like Armageddon did little to boost her reputation as an aspiring thespian, but she did land an important role as Arwen in the Lord of the Rings series, and in the 2000s she has been somewhat wiser in her role choices - appearing in less typical roles in more independent-minded films.
