BIO

One can hardly claim that the career of the delicately intense Christopher Walken has been as remarkable as many predicted after his exceptional start in the 1970s, culminating with his fantastic (and Oscar-winning) performance in Michael Cimino's The Deer Hunter. Perhaps his pursuit of leading-man status led him to take on too many mediocre roles during the middle part of his career, when he might have benefited more from embracing character parts. Still, Walken has never been in danger of losing his status as one of the most serious, humorous, and potent actors in the business. He's at his best bringing life to mentally unstable sociopaths, often infusing them with a subtle, implicit humour – as well as his trademark dance sequences.
