BIO

Immensely talented Irish character actor who learnt his trade on the stage and got started in movies only at the age of 35. His breakout role was as Hamish in Mel Gibson's Braveheart in 1995, after which Gleeson embarked on a prolific career alternating between high-profile and indie productions. He played "Mad-Eye" Moody in the Harry Potter series and has been a favourite of Irish independent filmmaker Martin McDonagh – his intensity and physical presence befitting McDonagh's dark themes in movies such as In Bruges and The Banshees of Inisherin.
