THE FRESHFILMS FOLLOWS THE OSCARS

The 87th Academy Awards

It was a day when Hollywood patted itself on the back with a boxing glove and gave the technically brilliant, but thematically slight Birdman (I'm not going to go out of my way to write that pretentious AKA) four awards, including best picture. But Birdman most certainly was not the best picture of the year. In fact, it was the least good picture of the Best Picture nominees.

Best acceptance speach: Pawel Pawlikowski who won Best Foreign Language Film for his Ida, and thanked by rambling on about his pals being drunk back in Poland.

Most deserved award: The Grand Budapest Hotel  for Best Production Design
