Awards
It was a
day when Hollywood patted itself on the back with a
boxing glove and gave the technically brilliant, but
thematically slight
Birdman
(I'm not going to go out of my way to write that
pretentious AKA) four awards, including best picture.
But Birdman most certainly was not the best
picture of the year. In fact, it was the least good
picture of the Best Picture nominees.
Best
acceptance speach: Pawel Pawlikowski who won Best
Foreign Language Film for his Ida, and thanked by
rambling on about his pals being drunk back in Poland.
Most deserved award:
The Grand
Budapest Hotel
for Best
