With his seductive looks and rugged masculinity, Scottish former model Sean Connery shot to international movie stardom through his role as James Bond in Dr. No in 1962. He continued playing Ian Fleming's 007, with great panache and success, a total of seven times until 1983, at which point he began focusing increasingly on character roles, often in big adventure and fantasy films, such as Highlander, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, First Knight and Dragonheart.
